Selectism once heard someone say that all ‘designer’ sneakers are terrible. Selectism beg to differ. Take Mr Kimmel’s offerings for instance. They’ve been consistently great for a while and this chukka is a perfect example of why designer sneakers have something to offer. And it’s on sale, which is nice.

Despite Lanvins footwear offerings going a bit DMX lately*, there’s always a couple of models we like. These aren’t paradigm breakers but they’re all of the words people use to describe an item like this – clean, minimal, classic. It does make us wish that adidas would pull their finger and make some high quality versions of the Stan Smith – it’d sell like hot cakes. Or a pair of trainers. One of the two.
Red Wing Heritage Genuine Handsewn Collection
For Spring 2012, Red Wing Heritage taps into the traditions of New England shoe making to launch the Genuine Handsewn Collection. Today, we preview two included styles (the 9142 and 9143 respectively), both using leather from Red Wing’s SB Foot Tannery and handmade in Maine. Muji House Shoes
Unsurprisingly, we like feeling bawsy around the house. And, for us at least, the best way to do that is by wearing some bawse-like slippers. Actually slippers isn’t grand enough a name – we prefer the term ‘house shoes’. Our only problem with these is that we can’t walk down the street in them.
